Improve knowledge of the forests of the Grande Région (GR) within the context of global changes, which will lead to major changes in these forests: loss of productivity, decline of certain species, appearance of other species
The module’s activities involve the production of ‘tree-scale’ forest maps to assess the resource potential of so-called species of the future, using Lidar and satellite image technologies; the development of growth models to estimate the availability of certain species of the future over a 30-year time span; the use of mobile Lidar to create cubing and assortment models; and the use of two cutting-edge technologies to analyse climate-growth relationships.
