Support the development of a high-performance local timber industry in the Grande Région, based on maintaining and relocating the value chain, while increasing the use of timber-based products.
More than a third of the Grande Région is covered by forests, which are a major source of timber and is home to many of the key people involved in its processing. In the face of climate change, the profile of the forest is changing and so are the resources available for processing.
Grande Région’s various authorities share a desire to support the development of a high-performance local timber industry.
The W.A.V.E. project aims to boost the timber value chain in the Grande Région.
Through its four complementary Work Modules (WM), the project will support the development of a high-performance local timber industry in a system of short circuits based on maintaining and relocating the value chain of a local resource.
The W.A.V.E. project’s innovation lies in the joint desire to establish a link between the preservation of the resource and the transition to an economy based on the local redeployment of timber-based economic activity within the Grande Région.
Networking helps to create new alliances, motivate companies to relocate, provide a space for joint economic activities and develop joint projects.
